Rules & Responsibilities

Children must stay in the main Indoor Playground room unless escorted by a parent or pre-authorized guardian.

Children should remain at home if they have a fever, or a green or yellow runny nose with accompanying cough.

If you are bringing a child (8 months +) from another family on a regular basis, that child's family must also pay membership or use a punch card.

Food and beverages are not allowed on the playground floor or on the mats. Light snacks may be eaten in the designated eating area ONLY and must be thoroughly cleaned up. If a baby spits up or spills on the floor, please wipe it up immediately. This prevents people from slipping and getting hurt. Chewing gum is not allowed in the building.

Children must wear shoes or go barefoot. Stocking feet are dangerously slippery.

The larger slides are for sliding down only.

Running, jumping and ball throwing shall occur in open areas away from babies and younger toddlers.

The Hoppity Horses should not be played with on or in conjunction with any other equipment, especially the slides. Hoppity Horses shall be used only in open areas away from babies and young toddlers.

The toys are to remain assembled during operation. The rocking boats and balance beam is kept on the mats to prevent injury.

A toy bucket will be provided for soiled toys. If your child puts a toy in his/her mouth please put the toy in the soiled toy bucket. Please be responsible for your child/ren.

No child is allowed to physically harm another child. Such behavior should be stopped by any observing adult, and brought to the attention of the parent.

If there is a problem, discipline quietly or accompany the child from the room until the child is under control. Abusive language is unacceptable by parents and children. A brief “time out” in a quiet corner works well for most problems.

Children should not bring their own toys to the Indoor Playground.

Parents are responsible for supervising their own child’s play. Teach your child the playground rules. Work with your child to clean up a mess s/he is responsible for creating.

All FGIP members must share set-up and clean-up duties. Specifically, each member must help open and close two times per year. Each member must help with two tear-downs and two set-ups each year.
