   Rules and Regulations

    2008-2009

It is expected and required that every member see that these rules are observed.  These rules are meant to ensure an equally enjoyable and safe time for all.  Any concerns, problems, comments and ideas may be discussed with a member of the Board of Directors.

I. Safety and Supervision:

·         Children must stay in the main Indoor Playground room unless escorted by a parent or pre-authorized guardian.

·         Parents are responsible for supervising their own child’s play.  Teach your child the playground rules.  Work with your child to clean up a mess s/he is responsible for creating.

·         Children should remain at home if they have a fever, or a green or yellow runny nose with accompanying cough.

·         Children must wear shoes or go barefoot.  Stocking feet are dangerously slippery.

·         No child is allowed to physically harm another child.  If there is a problem, discipline quietly or accompany the child from the room until the child is under control.  Abusive language is unacceptable by parents and children.  A brief “time out” in a quite corner works well for most problems.

II. Toys

·         The toys are to remain assembled during operation.  The rocking boats/horses, sit ‘n’ spin and balance beam are kept on the mats to prevent injury.

·         A toy bucket will be provided for soiled toys.  If your child puts a toy in his/her mouth please put the toy in the soiled toy bucket.  Please be responsible for your child/ren.

·         Children should not bring their own toys to the Indoor Playground.

III. Food

·         Food and beverages are not allowed on the playground floor or on the mats.  Light snacks may be eaten in the designated eating area ONLY and must be thoroughly cleaned up.  If a baby spits up or spills on the floor, please wipe it up immediately. Chewing gum is not allowed in the building.

IV. Responsibilites of Membership

·         If you are bringing a child (8 months +) from another family on a regular basis, that child’s family must also pay membership or use a punch card.

·         When needed, FGIP members may be asked to share set-up and clean-up duties.

V. Closures

·         In case of snow, FGIP will follow all Forest Grove School District closures.
